Bloom at BSP

April 5 - 6 | 10AM - 2PM

Join BSP this Spring for Bloom, a two-day flower festival and celebration of nature, creativity, and horticulture!

This festival will feature floral installations and botanical art displays, garden tours, pollinator & native plant education, horticulture demos, a makers' market, as well as food, drinks, and entertainment!

On April 5th & 6th, from 10AM - 2PM, we welcome green thumbs, garden enthusiasts, and park lover’s of all ages!

Discover BSP’s gardens on tours guided by our horticulture staff and volunteers, admire the fresh and colorful displays created by local florists, explore the local art and handmade goods in our maker’s market, and shop the plant sale.

	Lakeland Arts Association	Make a Pollinator plate, with Lakeland Arts Association, using simple supplies and a reverse painting technique. Once filled with a shallow pool of water, and placed outdoors, the plates provide an attractive water source for bees and butterflies!
	UF/IFAS Extension Polk County	Make your own Kokedama with UF/IFAS Extension Polk County! Kokedama is the Japanese technique of growing an ornamental plant in a moss-covered ball of soil. There are two opportunities to attend this workshop: April 5th or 6th from 12PM - 1PM in the GiveWell Community Foundation Nature Center at Bonnet Springs Park. All supplies will be provided. Select the date and time and complete registration to secure your spot. Availability is limited. Paid registration is required. Registrants must be 16 years or older. 	UF/IFAS Extension Polk County	Guests can visit the "Ask an Expert" booth to have all their horticulture and gardening questions answered by Master Gardeners. Free activity facilitated by UF/IFAS.
	UF/IFAS Extension Polk County	UF/IFAS will facilitate a demonstration on quick pickling to learn about how to extend the shelf life of edible plants. Sampling is available while supplies last!
	Garden Club of Lakeland, Inc.	Free activity by the Garden Club of Lakeland - flower hammering on watercolor paper with takeaway cards made to finish at home!
	Publix Charities	Free activity with a take-home plant cutting! Guest will be guided through proper trimming and repotting methods.
	Publix Charities	Free activity with a take-home Pollinator plant seed bundle!
	BSP Horticulture & Volunteers	Tours of the Harrell Family Botanical Gardens, developed by our Horticulture team and BSP volunteers, will include the newly planted Pollinator Paradise, Seasonal Summit, and the Butterfly Nursery gardens.
	BSP Horticulture & Volunteers	Tours of the Greenhouse will showcase the function, technology, and processes used by the BSP Horticulture Team to maintain a controlled environment for healthy plants.
