Bonnet Springs Receives Seed Gift for Carol Jenkins Barnett Endowment

Bonnet Springs Park announces gift from Harrell Family Charities

Lakeland, FL., March  18, 2022 Bonnet Springs Park launches the Carol Jenkins Barnett Endowment with a generous gift from Harrell Family Charities Fund held at the GiveWell Community Foundation on behalf of Jack and Tina Harrell of Harrell’s. Employee-owned since 2016, based in Lakeland, Florida since 1941, Harrell’s is a leading producer and distributor of customized, agronomic solutions. Jack and Tina Harrell have historically supported Bonnet Springs Park since conception with a Capital Campaign gift of The Harrell Family Botanical Gardens and the Harrell Family Greenhouse. “Tina and I are extremely proud to continue to support Bonnet Spring Park, this Park is a wonderful and transformational investment in our community,” said Jack Harrell.

Carol Jenkins Barnett’s final philanthropic gift was the founding of Bonnet Springs Park. Without her, Bonnet Springs Park wouldn’t be a reality. Carol possessed the vision and a desire to create a lasting legacy within Bonnet Springs Park. “The Barnett Family is truly honored to have the support of The Harrell Family in forming a legacy at Bonnet Springs Park in Carol’s honor. We look forward to welcoming the community to the Park in 2022,” said Bonnet Springs Park Board Chairman Barney Barnett.

Bonnet Springs is more than just a Park. Carol realized that creating a space to connect and reconnect with nature and with the community is exactly what future generations would need. “Bonnet Spring Park is honored to receive a subsequent gift from Harrell Family Charities. The Carol Jenkins Barnett Endowment will play a vital role in ensuring that the Park continues to impact our community to its fullest capacity,” said Josh Henderson, CEO of Bonnet Springs Park.
