Leading Farm Lender, AgAmerica, Partners with Bonnet Springs Park

AgAmerica is announcing the inauguration of the AgAmerica Heritage Gardens scheduled to open in 2021

AgAmerica, one of the largest, non-bank agricultural lenders in the United States for farmers, ranchers, and landowners, today announced a new partnership with the Bonnet Springs Park in Downtown Lakeland, Florida, set to open in the Spring of 2021. Both organizations are teaming up to highlight Central Florida’s rich history through the inauguration of the Bonnet Springs Park, which will feature the AgAmerica Heritage Gardens, within.Once the park opens, visitors will first encounter the six-acre AgAmerica Heritage Gardens within the 180-acre Bonnet Springs Park. These beautiful gardens will sit atop a repurposed former rail yard and pay tribute to the farmers and railway men and women who established this community. Prior to its reclamation, the rail yard was the economic engine for the growth of Polk County in the late 1800’s, and the largest train repair yard in the state of Florida. Bonnet Springs Park aims to enrich the community by combining and promoting the use of nature, culture, recreation, and education in the area. The AgAmerica Heritage Gardens will support the community by providing a space to escape, engage, and explore the area all while visitors learn about the extraordinary history of agriculture in Central Florida.

“Through design and content, Heritage gardens will pay tribute to the historical influences of railroads and agriculture. We are thrilled to have AgAmerica’s participation in this Legacy Project. AgAmerica, its wonderful leadership team, and employees are the perfect partners for Bonnet Springs Park in pioneering Central Florida’s new 180-acre park.”

Bill Tinsley, CEO of Bonnet Springs Park

“Through d“AgAmerica’s mission is to celebrate the critical role of the American farmer and to champion all the hard work they do in feeding the world. To work with another group of individuals that share our values, is not only remarkable, but guarantees this project was a great fit and will come together to honor our farmers.”

Brian Philpot, CEO of AgAmerica

The project will feature native plants and grasses that will bring both beauty and function to the space. The diversity of the plants in the AgAmerica Heritage Gardens will convert the space into a living classroom for visitors. By seeing the rich flora and fauna, guests will learn about the history and landscape of Central Florida.
