The BSP Express is full STEAM ahead! Join us March 13-17 for Spring Break at the Park!
*Supervision of children is required. Please do not plan on dropping off your children as we want the whole family to enjoy this experience!
Join us Monday - Friday from 10am - 2pm! With a different theme each day, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy. This fun filled event is FREE so mark your calendars and be ready to explore the incredible world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math)!
The Full STEAM Ahead Trail will be located along the pathway between Mable the Mosaic Owl and the Ann and Ward Edwards Boathouse. Once you arrive at the park, follow the Lakeland Regional Health Circulator to either Mable the Mosaic Owl or the GiveWell Community Foundation Nature Center, and your family will be able to see and hear the Full STEAM Ahead Trail from there!

There are over 190 species of breeding birds that call Florida their home. Join us at this station where you can borrow binoculars and pocket guides to identify birds visiting our Lagoon!

American Alligators were once on the Endangered Species List, but now thrive throughout the state. Join Gatorland at this station for an educational meet-and-greet with one of these beautiful creatures!
The Science of Insects
There are over 200,000 species of pollinators that help plants reproduce and thrive. Join UF/IFAS Extension Polk County Master Gardeners at this station to get up close and personal with insects as you learn more about attracting and protecting these important creatures!

Mobile Planetarium
Planetarium viewing will run every 15 minutes, with 30 minutes breaks at 11:15AM & 12:15PM. We’ve brought the Universe to you in the form of a Mobile Planetarium! Join Orlando Science Center at this station for an immersive tour through space and time to view stars, constellations, planets, galaxies, and more!

Water Quality Exploration
There are over 50,000 miles of rivers and streams throughout Florida. Join the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) at this station to conduct your own water quality tests right here at Bonnet Springs Park!
Rigamajig
Technology exists in many different forms and helps people solve a variety of problems. Join BSP Volunteers to learn about simple machines and work collaboratively to build with our RIgamajig cart!

Aviation connects communities around the world and requires very complex engineering principles to operate safely. Join the Aerospace Center for Excellence at this station to explore an airplane, design your own paper airplane, and even operate a virtual flight simulator!
Drone Zone
Drone flights will run every 15 minutes with a 30 min break at 11:30AM. Drone technology is reaching new heights and can be used for a wide range of needs, like monitoring wildfires and capturing video footage as new buildings are built. Join the Orlando Science Center at this station to explore drone technology while flying these amazing machines in a drone cage!

Learn about the world of land surveying with professional surveyors from Chastain-Skillman. Participants will have the ability to learn about the equipment used for surveys, the methods used for collecting data, and how CS surveyors conducted a tree survey for Bonnet Springs Park.

3D printing allows makers to design and build complex products from a variety of materials. Join Catapult at this station to see 3D printers in action and even take away your very own 3D printed item!

Rockets launch from the Kennedy Space Center on a regular basis and can occasionally be seen all the way from Lakeland, FL. Join MOSI at this station to view explosive rocket launch demonstrations!

The USGS estimates that each person in the United States uses 80-100 gallons of water every single day. Join the City of Lakeland’s Water Utility team at this station to design a drainage system and learn about how their vacuum truck operates!
